What We Believe

"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." - Hebrews 11:1

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Pine Grove Baptist Church | Fayetteville, GA based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

There is one God. He has existed Eternally and through Him all things are created. He is the Trinity; That is God in three distinct persons. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is everywhere, existing both in His Creation, and above.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the living Word of God, by whom all things were created. He is fully man, and fully God. He came from a virgin, lived a perfect life, sacrificed His life for the redemption of man, and then rose from the grave.  He will return in the future to rule over all the world as King.

Mankind

Adam and Eve were the first created Humans by God. They were created Man and Woman. We descend directly from them. They, and us, are created to govern the world, and tend to it.

The Fall

Adam and Eve disobeyed the commands of God and thus sin entered the world. All humanity has committed wrong doings, called sin, and none are free from it's consequences, death.

Salvation

Salvation come from Faith in Jesus Christ. He lived a sinless life to pay the price for the sins of the World. That grace is offered to all those who believe. To be saved all that is required is to believe in your heart and confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord.

The Church

The Church is the living body of Jesus Christ, composed of all those who believe in Him. The believers gather together to tend to each other, and the needs of the world. Each member has a duty to serve in the capacity God has created them for.

Sacrements

We observe two sacraments.
Baptism by immersion for those who believe. Baptism is a physical representation of being buried and raised from the grave as Jesus was, as an outward expression of an inward faith.
Communion, also called the Lord's supper, is taken in observance and instructed by Jesus. We together take the bread and grape juice in remembrance of Jesus body which was broken and his blood which was spilt, to pay the debt for sin.
